Dale's baptism!!!

Dales’ baptism |
Honestly, I can't remember much from this week, but that's
because the past few days have been so awesome. On Saturday we had Dales’
baptism. The spirit was so strong there the entire service, it's hard to
describe but it's a feeling you always want to have with you. One of our
investigators described the feeling as taking a warm bath, I definitely had
that feeling in my heart throughout Dale's baptism. Seeing his son baptize him
was so awesome. At the end of the service Dale bore his testimony and
conversion story. Of course, he mentioned all the other churches he's been to,
and how he was trying to debunk the Book of Mormon, but it ended up converting
him to Christ as he read it. He's already sharing the Book of Mormon, which is
another testament of Jesus Christ and a record of Christ’s doctrine that he taught
to the people here in America after his resurrection and how he established his
church in America with apostles and prophets just as he did in Jerusalem. It
teaches the doctrine of Christ so clearly and together with the Bible teaches of
Christ’s Atonement and Resurrection that makes it possible for us to repent and
be resurrected one day. Dale is now sharing the Book of Mormon with all his
friends and with his family that aren't members, so they too can have another
witness and guide to knowing and following Jesus Christ.

Historic Snowfall |
Something else that was crazy about that day, it snowed! It
was the first time it had snowed in Spokane in September since 1926. I wasn't
packed for snow, and Elder Smith is from Arizona, so we were both freezing as
we biked around with snow blowing in our eyes. It's a miracle we didn't crash.
Probably won't be riding bikes around anymore. We were at the local food bank
for two hours and our feet got soaked in freezing cold water, but it's still
worth it to be out in the community serving. Luckily on Friday Brother Fletcher
gave me one of his winter coats to borrow, and my mom's package got here on
Saturday with some warmer clothes, so I think I'll survive for now.

I want to ride my Bi-cycle! |
On Sunday Dale got confirmed, and some kids we're teaching
came to church even though it was snowing. Later, Elder Smith and I were
walking to Brother Fletcher's for dinner when Elder Smith and I had the thought
to knock on a members’ door. She actually didn’t live there, but the man that
lived there let us in and we talked about being missionaries for a while and
all the crazy things we see. He asked us how much we charge for a Book of
Mormon. We gladly told him that we give them away for free and gave him his own
copy to read. He said when we meet next week he'll give us pizza, such a funny
and nice guy. Elder Smith is so in tune with the spirit, we constantly have
little miracles like that every week where we (or he usually) have a thought to
go somewhere where we weren't planning on going originally, and it leads to
either finding someone to teach or someone that will at least accept a Book of
Mormon.
A scripture that I found this week that really spoke to me
was in Jacob chapter 2 verse 8 in the Book of Mormon. It reads:
8 And it supposeth me that they have come up hither to hear the
pleasing aword of God, yea, the word which healeth the wounded soul.
Being able to share the scriptures like these from the Book
of Mormon with people and seeing their eyes light up or to just leave them
happier than when we first started talking to them has been such a great
blessing. The word of God truly does heal the wounded soul. I know for me,
whenever I'm reading the Book of Mormon daily, everything in my life seems to
go such much better and I always feel happier and am able to share that happiness
more with others. I invite you all to read the Book of Mormon every day for the
next week and look back and see how your week has gone and how reading the Book
of Mormon has made you feel. I can promise you that you will be able to feel
God's love for you as you do.
T'chau! Eu amo voces!
