Fe leva a milagres

Photoshop magic - maybe overexposed but at least you can see everyone Original photo - not enough light Oi pessoal! This week was super awesome. Lots of people have been showing up out of nowhere that have known the church in the past or have member friends and want to know more. When we are just walking down the street, even when we aren't teaching, "doing publicity for the church" as some of our members say, has led to a lot of miracles.  A few funny moments. One day we were walking through the richest part of Patriota to go teach someone when I heard someone screaming "Hi!" at us. It's been a while since I'd heard English, so we turned back and went to that house. It turns out that the lady's sister was the one that wanted to call after us but had never done so until then because she thought we only speak English. Luckily her sister speaks English, so she finally called after us to learn more. Everyone in the house complimented m...

This transfer was a transfer of changes in our mission, although Elder Lima and I are still here in Patriota, we now have sister missionaries serving in our ward! They are from Mozambique and they are awesome missionaries. Another thing that changed, people have started to call me Angolan! I didn't think I was that tan yet, but there you go.    Highlight of the week, 11 people came to church this week! A lot of them were friends of members who brought them along, have I already said how much I love being a missionary and how much I love this ward? We are teaching so many amazing people right now, a lot of them have parents that don't want them to get baptized, but they continue to go to church and want to meet with us still. Elder Lima and I have our work cut out for us with all these people, especially in Dengereux, but it is so more than worth it to teach these awesome people and see the Book of Mormon and the Gospel of Jesus Christ change their lives. In the beginni...

Once I was 20 Years Old

Oi gente! Thank you all for the birthday wishes and all the support! It's still pretty nuts to me that I'm not a teenager anymore. Elder Lima and I are both going to be staying in patriots for another transfer. Elder Lima jokes a lot that soon he'll be a member of the Patriota ward because he's been here for so long. We've also concluded that President Pinto wants us to get fat, so much cake from the members this week! I'm definitely not complaining; these people are amazing.    On my birthday, we did an exchange with our zone leaders, so I was with Elder Kenda for the day. He was born in Angola but grew up in England, but I hardly needed to speak English with him the entire day! That definitely showed me how much the Lord has blessed me with the gift of tongues, a confidence booster for sure. Even though we didn't have a lunch appointment, 3 different members gave us food that day. Elder Kenda served in the Patriota ward 9 months ago, and he d...

Fletcher video chatting at the internet cafe draws local interest Note the minecraft t shirt- even in africa! See no evil, hear no evil, do no evil monkey carving that an elder gave me Happy New Year Everybody! This past week was more of the same, eating with members a lot, resting a bit, and then lots of walking to go and teach people. On New Year’s Eve, Elder Lima and I got to the top of our apartment building and took some pictures.(at the  bottom) Even on New Year’s Eve there wasn't too much celebrating or lights, but it was still really cool to get that few of the city.  Fletcher video chatting at the internet cafe draws local interest part 2 These members in Patriota have been such a blessing, and I'm not just talking about the food. We received a few referrals recently that we've been able to teach, and our members brought them to church! Not just that, but we had other members bring a couple friends to church that we haven't started te...
