Goat in the kitchen

Oi gente!

Sorry it's been so long, I need to get back in the habit of writing these every week, I don't have a lot of them left.

I was sad to leave the valley, but Pueblo has been awesome. My new companion is Elder Egbert, and surprise surprise, he's also from Saint George Utah! That's now 3 out of my last 4 companions that have been from there. I keep managing to be companions with all the tall Elders in the mission, but it makes basketball more fun, even if I'll still be the short one.

There's lots to do in Pueblo! There are so many wonderful people here, also a bunch of interesting people, but that just makes it even more fun to talk to the people of Pueblo. We're teaching a few awesome people. Sam if one of them, I was able to help him set a date for baptism when I first got here, and he's very committed to preparing himself to be baptized. Hearing the heartfelt prayers from him and others really remind me why I chose to serve a mission, and why this makes me so happy. Seeing others come closer to Jesus Christ is one of the greatest things I've ever experienced.

Sadly, I'm back in another area without a car, but we have a few weights and a ping pong table in our apartment, so why would anyone ever want to leave? Ok I'll admit, it would be nice to get out more, but the other Elders serving near us come over a lot, so we're able to stay busy and sane. Elder Egbert has determined to destroy my diet, which has been pretty successful, seeing as food is one of my biggest temptations haha. I may or may not have eaten a whole carton of Reese's ice cream in one day... but I'll count it as an accomplishment.

Something I've seen from the other missionaries around me and from the people we are teaching is charity.
1 Corinthians 13: 4-7
4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

They've been great examples to me in showing Christlike love toward one another. Thinking outside of ourselves is usually difficult, at least it is for me. It's definitely a habit of most people to think of their needs first, but someone with true charity is able to think of others even before themselves. Working hard as a missionary isn't a new concept, but for me, being able to focus on others and the joy I'm bringing them instead of what I'm doing has helped me a lotI know that when we truly love both our friends and enemies, we will be able to see them as our Heavenly Father sees them.

I want to invite you to experience a spiritual feast this Easter Weekend by tuning into General Conference to hear uplifting messages about our Savior Jesus Christ and His saving gospel!

As you do so with questions and a pray in your heart the Holy Spirit will answer those questions and prayers I so testify!

He is the LIGHT and LIFE of the World our advocate with the Father. Though Him all injustices, heartaches, griefs , sorrows and sins can he healed!

I love HIM with all my heart! May you too invite and receive His healing grace in your life today!
