The best 2 years

Well familia, my time as a missionary is coming to a close, don't worry though, I still have one more email to write after this.

I'll definitely miss Elder Egbert and all the wonderful missionaries here, and I'll miss Pueblo a lot, no matter how crazy it can be. I've made a lot of great friends, and I've loved seeing them progress and find joy in Jesus Christ.

We had a miracle the other day. We received a call from some of the Sister missionaries near us to tell us that they were teaching someone in our area! Because she lives in area, we have the privilege to teach her. Her name is Zaneta. Zaneta is super excited to meet with us and wants to be baptized soon! She has gone through and is going through so much, it makes me sad, but also so happy to see the things she is willing to do to come unto her Savior, even when it would be easier to just focus on herself and her kids only.

The other day, a man living in our apartment complex fell over and couldn't get up, so we went over and helped him back to his couch in his apartment. His name is Jerry, and he has Parkinson’s, so I'm really thankful we were there at the right time and place to be of help. His wife has family members that are members of the church, so we were able to have a few conversations with them and are meeting with them now! As a missionary, seeing others progress towards baptism is great, but helping others in any way we can and bringing them into Jesus Christ is all we can ask to do.

As missionaries, we may be doing many serious things, but we still love to laugh and joke around. The Elders that I serve around have many inside jokes, one of the biggest ones is about my calves. Sadly, I think my calves might be more well-known than I am ha-ha. Even a few members in our congregation have gotten in on it, which is absolutely hilarious to me. Surprisingly enough, missionaries are real people! Most people don't regard us as real, but these are teenagers and young adults leaving their lives and their families to teach others about Jesus Christ and his gospel. I know the Lord helps us so much, because I definitely couldn't do it alone, and I don't know how much a bunch of 19 and 20 year olds could get done on their own either.

Our mission also had a zone Conference, which is a meeting with other missionaries and our mission president and his counselors and their wives. This one might have been one of the biggest I've ever been to. It was amazing to be uplifted by other missionaries and their messages, and to see old companions and friends of mine. Seeing as it was my last zone Conference, I was able to bear what's called a "departing testimony". A testimony is a short statement of something someone knows to be true. Every day I get to testify of Jesus Christ, that he is our savior, that God is our loving Heavenly Father, and that they have a plan for us.
