Book of Mormon movers

Oi pessoal!

My new companion Elder Armstrong from Charleston,
South Carolina.
This week was awesome, such a great welcome to this mission. I really love the members in our ward and the missionaries near us. Living as a quarantined missionary is not always too exhilarating, but we are still teaching and helping others whenever we can.
Castle Rock, where I am now
serving in Colorado

The apartment I am is nice, we even have a few weights and a bench, so it looks like I will be continuing bulking season, hopefully now with some actual muscle possibly. My companion, Elder Armstrong, loves basketball, and we are supposed to have some outside time every day (although we still are not allowed to initiate conversations with anyone), even if it's just shooting around it has been pretty fun.
The reason for this week’s title: we have a neighbor, Ed, who was moving his family out of the apartment almost right next to us to a big house close by. We offered to help as movers, and spent a little over 3 hours hauling around beds, dressers, and whatever else to the truck and then into the house. When we were done Ed and his wife offered to pay us but we told them we had to decline, but asked if we could give them some copies of the Book of Mormon instead. I'll always remember the look on Ed's face, "so you just did service for us, and now you're giving US a gift?” That was such an awesome experience, Ed said that he and his wife had recently become religious, and that they would happily read the Book of Mormon. Being a missionary certainly isn't about earning money, but about helping others come closer to Christ.

Reading the Book or Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ, has brought me closer to my Savior Jesus Christ along with peace and hope to my life and given me knowledge of God’s plan for us. It has also strengthened my testimony of the Bible. When Christ comes to the people of the Book of Mormon here in the Americas after His resurrection, He teaches them the same doctrines and teachings as in Jerusalem and establishes His church with twelve apostles! Having these two witnesses of His divinity and plan of happiness for us is one of my greatest blessings and wish for all of you, that I love, to have that closeness with Christ, a deeper understanding of His plan, along with greater faith hope and peace.

You all can have that peace and knowledge too. I invite all of you to read the Book of Mormon, if you want to know more about it, start by reading the introduction found inside, or reach out to the missionaries in your area. I know that they have time and would absolutely love to talk with you about it.

In these trying days, hope is something we all need. In the Book of Mormon, a verse in Ether 12:4 states: "Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh an anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God." Hoping for a better world might seem like the only thing we can do at times, but I know that as we put our differences aside and strive to love one another, we can turn that hope of a better world into a reality, together.
