Priesthood Power

Another week in Spokane gone by. Time is really starting to fly. I don't know anything about my visa yet, but I've had an awesome time here, so I wouldn't be too mad spending some more time in Spokane. The members in our ward are awesome, and always make sure we get fed plenty. Brother Fletcher (no, not me) is a mission legend. The Elders in our zone have breakfast with him every p-day, and Elder Smith and I have been over to his house many times. He's always willing to feed us and drive us and our bikes up the giant south hill that we struggle up every day.

Brother Fletcher had his hand bitten by a few dogs, and after a few weeks of pain pills not working, said he couldn't take it anymore and asked us to give him a priesthood blessing. The next day, he thanked us and told us it was already better.

Another blessing we gave ended up being a very special spiritual experience. We were teaching our first lesson to a man that told us he believed in God but had become angry at him over the years because of the trials and sicknesses that he has had to deal with all his life. Elder Smith and I had a long lesson with him in which this man told us his entire life story, and when we mentioned the power to heal by the Priesthood he asked us to give him a blessing. During the lesson and especially during the blessing, the spirit was so powerful in that room. After talking so much, the man said he was speechless, and felt a feeling he had only felt a few times in his life before. His countenance changed so much throughout the lesson, and now he wants his fiancĂ© and his son to meet with us to learn more about God. The way he described his feeling was that of being in a warm bath. We were able to testify of God's love for him, and he is now so much more open to learning about our loving Heavenly Father.

The last blessing, we gave was to a recent convert to our church who has been having a tough time with some losses in her family. Being able to give her a blessing of comfort and testify that she will see her brother again after this life was so powerful. The best visits are the ones where those we teach or bless are so much happier after we leave.

Many miracles are happening here in Spokane. I'm just glad that I get to be a part of a few of them. The blessing of the Priesthood and being able to bless and heal others has never been so evident in my life more than right now. If we are worthy and faithful and expect miracles, the Lord will pour them out upon us. Being able to be an instrument in the Lord's hands has been such a great blessing for me, the authority and power of God has truly been restored to this earth.

Eu ammo voces! Ate proxima semana!
