2nd week in Spokane

This week went by so fast. I wish I had more time to email, but I have a few minutes so hopefully I remember enough from this week. Something our mission president has encouraged us to do is to pray for, seek, and expect miracles to

happen as we go about doing the Lord's work. Elder Smith and I have already seen plenty of miracles.

When I saw that I was staying in the states for a while, I figured finding people willing to hear our message would be a lot harder, which is for the most part true, but everyone here is so nice, and we've already seen a few miracles. One big miracle was finding Dale. We decided to knock on his door one day, but he didn't answer for a long time. We thought the door wouldn't open so we got on our bikes, but as we were starting to leave, he opened the door and yelled after us and invited us in. He shared a lot with us and invited us to teach him that Friday and even asked about going to our church. We were so surprised by a lot of the things he told us, he has been looking for a church and has been to many already, and we were happy to begin teaching him. He said that he got the gospel library app and plays the Book of Mormon out loud whenever his wife is in the room so that she'll get interested in it too, he's just amazing. He came to church this Sunday and we were able to talk to him even more about our church. Afterwards he told us: "Man, we wasted 3 years when we could have been here!"

As I have studied the scriptures and focused on finding and helping those in our area, I have been guided so much by the spirit in my life. Elder Smith and I have had times where we've had a feeling to go somewhere different and then end up talking to someone or having scriptures pop into our heads to share that have really lifted the spirits of those we were talking with. The Lord works in many ways, and I'm so excited to be able to continue doing his work and bringing others closer to Jesus Christ. One scripture I'd like to leave with you all that I thought of a lot this week is Mosiah 24:14-15. I know that the Lord doesn't take away our burdens, but that as we seek him and do his will, he will help us through them and strengthen us.

T'chau! Eu ammo voces!

Moisah 24

14 And I will also ease the aburdens which are put upon your shoulders, that even you cannot feel them upon your backs, even while you are in bondage; and this will I do that ye may stand as bwitnesses for me hereafter, and that ye may know of a surety that I, the Lord God, do visit my people in their cafflictions.
15 And now it came to pass that the burdens which were laid upon Alma and his brethren were made light; yea, the Lord did astrengthen them that they could bear up their bburdens with ease, and they did submit cheerfully and with cpatience to all the will of the Lord.
